This week Tiger Woods moved up to number 6 in the world after his win at the ZOZO Championship in Japan. The 43-year-old now has tied Sam Snead with his 82nd PGA Tour victory. An impressive career, when will his 83rd come along?

Winter League/ Pro Sweep

After 5 rounds John Murdoch tops the Winter League leaderboard but we have a long way to go until the final weekend in March. Will last year’s champion Alistair Craig be able to catch him?

You still have time to join the Winter League. Details of the format are below:

Format –18 holes stableford format, best five stableford rounds overall
Price – £10 to enter then £3 every week you play (Saturday or Sunday)
Handicaps – Winter handicap will apply (National Handicap will not change for 2020)

NO GIMMIES, EVERYTHING MUST BE HOLED OUT

Winter Hours

We would like to welcome our new members that joined in the last week, it’s great to see new faces around the club. Our Golf Membership is currently open so if you know of anyone who is interested in becoming a member please contact the club to discuss and options we have available.

The following hours will apply until further notice.

Clubhouse:
Monday – Thursday - Closed
Friday - 11am - 3pm
Saturday - 11am - 4pm
Sunday - 11am - 6pm

Locker Room:
Monday – Friday - Closes at 4pm
Saturday – Sunday - Closes at 5pm

Pro Shop:
Monday – Friday - 8.30am-4pm
Saturday – Sunday - 7.30am-3pm

Course news

Please Protect Your Course

If you have been out on the golf course in the last couple of weeks you may have noticed that every divot on the fairways has now been sand and seeded. A huge thanks go to Des Nolan, John Murdoch & Bobby Gardiner for helping complete this job.

Please continue to protect our golf course by taking the ball into the rough off the fairway and repair any pitchmarks made on the greens. If you didn't know before this is the correct way to repair a pitchmark:

In 2018, only January saw more rainfall in the UK than November. Not the happiest of stats to highlight, but one that indicates we'll be experiencing a few downpours in the coming weeks, making a waterproof and spacious bag vital to tackle the unpredictable British weather.

Which do you prefer?

Golf apparel is famous for taking a bit of a knock from other sports and, in all honesty, in years gone by, it did deserve it. However, today’s golf-specific clothing often sets the tone for smart, high-performing sportswear that is versatile enough to be worn anywhere.

Spot the difference

If you've ever been to a fancy dress party, we're sure you would have seen someone dressed as a golfer from the 19th century - plus fours, knee length socks and flat caps.
